FNpower is dedicated to advancing clean energy solutions and economic development in Indigenous communities. Our mission is to create sustainable energy projects that provide long-term benefits, including revenue generation, employment, and capacity building for Indigenous Nations. We are seeking a motivated Project Development Intern to support our business development and project initiatives. 

Role Overview 

The Project Development Intern will report to the Business Development and Projects Manager and will assist in research, planning, and execution of energy and economic development projects. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management, business development, and Indigenous economic initiatives while working closely with industry professionals and community stakeholders.  

The Project Development Intern may be required to travel to various Indigenous communities for events, open houses, and project support activities as part of the role. Travel arrangements and accommodations will be provided as necessary. 

Key Responsibilities:  

• Support project planning, feasibility assessments, and funding applications for renewable energy and infrastructure projects. 

• Conduct market research and analysis on Indigenous business opportunities, industry trends, and potential partnerships. 

• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and proposals for internal and external stakeholders. 

• Collaborate with the FNpower team to support community engagement efforts and partnerships. 

• Help track project timelines, deliverables, and documentation to ensure effective execution. 

• Provide administrative support for meetings, stakeholder communications, and project logistics. 

Qualifications & Skills: 

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Business, Economics, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Indigenous Studies, or a related field. 

• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Interest in Indigenous economic development and renewable energy projects. 

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools is an asset. 

• Knowledge of Indigenous governance, community engagement, or funding processes is an advantage.
